Who are the men
who dance for men? Where do they come from? What are their hopes and dreams? What do they get out of it and what
does it do to them? What becomes of them when they leave the stage and head for other fields?
In this ground-breaking
sociological study, DeMarco has collected data from male strippers, bar owners, patrons, and others to discover
what makes the men and the industry tick.
Over a period
of years and in seven cities in the US and Canada, DeMarco interviewed more than 160 male strippers along with
a number of bar owners, workers, and patrons to complete the study. The interviews were in-depth and intensive
resulting in hundreds of hours of material.
In-depth interviews
with strippers, answers to what goes on in strip joints and why, and analysis of the phenomenon will be offered
in a style that everyone can relate to, understand, and enjoy.
